I have been for a miracle cure for ages. the muscle mags make it sound so easy, but its not. I want to pack on some serious muscle and become a bodybuilder. The problem is that I put on too much fat when I try to bulk up. I am taking protein and a meal replacement. I also use glutamine. I have added about 30lbs over 2 years, but want to add another 15lbs. Once I get this big I will cut down. Thats my plan.

If i want to increase muscle mass, how often should I be lifting weights. I dont want to get fat but I want more muscle mass. I drink a whey protein shake after my workouts and try to eat a good meal every 4 hours. I eat eggs, beef and veg most times - how can I improve on this.

Cheers

For someone weighing 170lbs, and wanting to build more muscle and power, I'd recommend taking 3.5 - 5oz of protein each day. Whey protein is absorbed by the body very quickly, so I'd recommend taking this straight before you train, and again straight after you finish.

I've written an article on protein over at my blog www.thesportssupplementsbuyersguide.com if you're interested in reading a bit more.
